The City as Dance Floor

The city is one big dance
we're all on the dance floor
not everyone dances

Most know they're on the floor
some have no clue,
others ignore the dance

Some dance only with their partner
though dancers appear at every turn
Some dance only with the family
never with a stranger.

Which is why as a dancer
it's so nice to see
strangers dancing with strangers

a slight move left,
while you slide right
a momentary dance
then on to the next partner.
